Are you shocked about the revelations from the documentary, “AKA Jane Roe”, a portrait of Norma McCorvey whose unwanted pregnancy led to Roe v. Wade, the 1973 case that legalized abortion nationwide? McCorvey stunned the world in 1995 when she switched sides to crusade against her own case, now claiming she was anti-abortion. Norma McCorvey died of heart failure on February 18, 2017, but in final interviews she makes a startling deathbed confession; her infamous reversal on abortion rights “was all an act” and she was paid by evangelical Christian groups to make the switch.
I know a lot of us are “shook” by this betrayal, so we are honored to have Heather Booth join us for a discussion on the ramifications of this disclosure. Ms. Booth is co-founder of the legendary Jane Collective or Jane, an underground abortion service in Chicago that operated from 1969 to 1973, when abortion was illegal in most of the U.S.
