Special Screening and Discussion of “The Public”

A new film directed by Emilio Estevez and featuring Alec Baldwin, Emilio Estevez, Rhymefest, Taylor Schilling and Christian Slater, The Public is the story of an act of civil disobedience that turns into a standoff with police when homeless people in Cincinnati take over the public library to seek shelter from the bitter cold.

Join the OPHC and the Oak Park Public Library for a special screening of this powerful film, followed by a discussion with Lynda Schueler of Housing Forward and David Seleb of the Oak Park Public Library. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by clicking the ticket link or by going to https://www.endhomelessnessoakpark.com/events.
Please note that once you have purchased your tickets, your name will be on a list at the door. There will be no physical tickets for this event.

Proceeds will go toward continued renovations of the Sojourner House transitional housing program via Housing Forward and the Oak Park Housing Authority, as well as the Jim Madigan Oak Park Public Library Staff Education Fund.
