National Day of Outrage

“Atatiana Jefferson was killed by Dallas Ft Worth police in her own home after playing COD with her nephew. Shot through the window after police lurked in her yard without even announcing themselves for a “wellness check”. We often see an underwhelming response when black women are killed and Atatiana is the most recent loss.
The list is too long: Sandra Bland, Korryn Gaines, Pamela Turner, Miriam Kelly, Darnisha Harris, Shelly Frey, Mya Hall and more: at the hands of police terrorism. This has to end. ” – Marcie Wells

Chicago our community has also suffered loses by the hands of police brutality. Our own community mourned with the murder of Rekia Boyd and we are still healing from it and countless organizations on the ground are still fighting for her and her family.. Our voice and agenda will be heard. We must have our sisters protected. We are the change we want to see and we carry the batons passed to us by those who came before us and sacrificed so much for change. It’s our turn. We call on the men in our community to be in solidarity and protect and uplift us in demanding justice for Atatiana and to #ProtectOurSisters.
