Please join us for this fascinating presentation sponsored by the Health & Medicine Policy Research Group (www.hmprg.org).
If someone were to give Illinois a reproductive health report card, the state would get a solid B—we are doing better than some states, but there is more to be done. Our next Health & Medicine Talk will provide an overview of reproductive health in the state and discuss some current issues like options counseling which includes understanding abortion services; patient-centered counseling for reproductive life goals; and debunking myths of hassle free, effective birth control options. We will also touch on the current Illinois policy landscape including debates, challenges, and areas where we’re making advancements.
To lead this discussion, we are pleased to welcome Board Member and women’s health provider Kai Tao, ND, MPH, CNM. A Certified Nurse Midwife with Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital, Kai previously served as Deputy Commissioner/ Chief Program Officer for the Chicago Department of Public Health overseeing the Maternal, Infant, Child and Adolescent Health Bureau. In 2018 she founded Juno4Me, a new Chicago nonprofit that connects women with birth control that was recently featured on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight.
As a member of Health & Medicine’s community of supporters we wanted you to be the first to know about this exciting event. I hope you’ll join me for this important conversation on Wednesday, April 3 at 5:30pm. To RSVP, please email KLoda@hmprg.org.
