Exhibition Opening: Notorious RBG

“Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg” is a vibrant exploration of Justice Ginsburg’s life and her numerous, often-simultaneous roles as a student, wife, mother, lawyer, judge, women’s rights pioneer, and Internet phenomenon. The exhibition tells Ginsburg’s story using a dynamic array of gallery interactives, listening stations, archival photographs, historical artifacts, and contemporary art. Based on the book and Tumblr page of the same name, “Notorious RBG” is the first-ever museum exhibition focused solely on this judicial icon.

In the exhibition’s public opening program, the authors of “Notorious RBG,” Irin Carmon and Shana Knizhnik, will share the story of how a Tumblr blog inspired by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg exploded into a cultural obsession – including fashion accessories, a fitness regimen and memes – and birthed one of America’s most unlikely popular icons. Book signing to follow.

Free with Museum admission.
Reservations required.
