Guest Speaker: Michelle Duster, Author, Activist, and Educator will speak on the legacy of her great-grandmother, Ida B. Wells who was a feminist, anti racist, anti-lynching activist, and groundbreaking investigative journalist. Wells is one of the most prominent African-American women in American history who among other things created some of Chicago’s and the nation’s first women’s organizations. Duster’s book, Michelle Obama’s Impact on African American Women and Girls is scheduled for release in 2018.
