There’s growing support for carbon pricing as a necessary step to address climate change. It is supported by 88 countries and a broad array of public interest groups. Here in Evanston, the City has recently passed a new Climate Action Resiliency Plan which includes a recommendation to support local and national strategies for instituting limits on carbon, including market strategies such as a price on carbon.
Come to learn: why pricing is an effective policy for climate action; how pricing will speed a transition to renewable energy; how you can support a carbon pricing policy and more.
This program is organized by Citizens’ Climate Lobby, The Climate Reality Project, Chicago Chapter and the Leagues of Women Voters of Evanston and of Arlington Heights-Mount Prospect-Buffalo Grove Areas and will include presentations by Mike Zanillo, Illinois State Coordinator Citizens’ Climate Lobby; Rick Knight, Research Coordinator for Citizens’ Climate Lobby; and Regina Gomez, Environmental Specialist for League of Women Voters.
